Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Slizy mobile app and website. Slizy is a community ride-sharing platform that connects people travelling the same way so they can share a cab or auto and split the fare. Please read them carefully — by using Slizy you agree to them.

Effective

1. Who we are and what Slizy is

Slizy (“Slizy”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Slizy. Slizy provides a technology platform (the “Service”) that lets a user who is already taking a cab or auto (a “Host”) post their route, available seats, and fare, and lets other users (“Seekers”) find and request to join that ride and pay their share of the fare.

Slizy is not a transportation provider, taxi operator, aggregator, or travel agent. We do not own or operate vehicles, employ drivers, or arrange the underlying cab or auto. The ride itself is booked by the Host with a third-party service or a street-hailed vehicle, entirely outside Slizy. Slizy only helps people who are going the same way find each other and agree on how to split the cost.

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law to use Slizy.
  • You must register with accurate, current information and keep it up to date. You may only hold one account, and it must be for your personal, non-commercial use.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your login credentials and one-time passwords private, and tell us immediately at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • We may require identity, phone, or other verification before you can host or join rides, and may refuse, suspend, or revoke verification at our discretion.

3. How rides, matching, and fare-splitting work

A Host posts a route, departure time, number of seats, and a fare. Slizy shows Seekers how closely a posted ride matches their own route, the Host’s profile and ratings, an estimated time, and the Seeker’s indicative share of the fare. A Seeker sends a request; the Host accepts or declines. Once accepted, the Host and Seeker coordinate the pickup through the app.

Fare shares shown in the app are estimates based on the information the Host provides. The actual amount payable is what the Host and Seeker agree, and the Seeker pays it directly to the Host. Hosts agree to post a fare that reflects a genuine, good-faith split of the real cost of the ride and not to profit from carrying co-travellers; Slizy is a cost-sharing platform, not a commercial transport service.

Either party may cancel before the ride. Repeated no-shows, late cancellations, or misleading ride posts may result in warnings, rating penalties, or suspension.

4. Payments via UPI

Payments between users are made peer-to-peer using UPI through your own UPI-enabled app. Slizy does not collect, hold, route, or process the fare, is not a party to the payment, and is not a payment system operator, prepaid instrument issuer, or bank. Your UPI transaction is governed by the terms of your UPI app and bank.

Because we never touch the money, we cannot reverse, refund, or guarantee any payment between users. If a dispute arises about a payment, please first try to resolve it with the other user; you can also report it to us and we may take action on the accounts involved, but we cannot recover funds on your behalf.

Slizy is currently free to use. If we ever introduce fees or paid features, we will tell you in advance and give you the chance to stop using the Service before they apply.

5. Community conduct

Slizy works because strangers trust each other. You agree that you will not:

  • harass, threaten, discriminate against, or behave abusively towards any user, driver, or other person;
  • post false routes, fares, seat counts, identities, or ratings, or otherwise mislead other users;
  • use Slizy to operate a commercial transport, courier, or delivery service, or to solicit passengers for profit;
  • contact other users for any purpose other than the ride you have matched on, or collect or scrape user data;
  • carry illegal, dangerous, or prohibited items, or do anything during a ride that breaks the law or puts anyone at risk;
  • interfere with or attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service or its security; or
  • use the Service if you are under 18 or have been suspended or banned.

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the community, with or without notice, and may cooperate with law enforcement where required.

6. Safety and your responsibility

Profile verification and mutual ratings help, but they are not a guarantee of anyone’s identity, character, or behaviour. You alone decide whether to host, join, or continue a ride. Use common sense: check the vehicle and the person against their profile, share your trip with someone you trust, and leave any situation that feels unsafe. In an emergency, contact the police (112) first.

Hosts are responsible for complying with the terms of the cab or auto service they use and for any rules that service imposes about additional passengers. Each user is responsible for their own conduct and belongings during the ride.

7. Ratings, reviews, and your content

You may submit ratings, reviews, profile details, and messages (“Content”). You keep ownership of your Content, but you grant Slizy a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and use it to operate, improve, and promote the Service. Ratings must be honest and based on your actual experience; we may remove Content that is false, abusive, or violates these terms.

8. Our intellectual property

The Slizy name, logo, app, website, design, and software are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app and website for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.

9. Third-party services

Slizy relies on third-party services such as app stores, map providers, SMS/OTP providers, and UPI apps. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. The cab or auto itself, and any driver, are not provided by Slizy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of route matches, ETAs, or fare estimates, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee that a ride will be available, that a match will be accepted, that any user will show up, or that any user will behave as expected.

11. Limitation of liability

Slizy connects people; it does not provide, supervise, or control rides. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Slizy and its founders, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, damage, delay, dispute, or cost arising out of a ride, a payment between users, the conduct of any user or driver, or your use of or inability to use the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims is limited to ₹1,000 or the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slizy from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your Content, your conduct during a ride, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Slizy and delete your account at any time from the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.

14. Changes to the Service and these terms

We are an early-stage product and will keep changing the Service. We may also update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Slizy after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these terms or the Service. Before going to court, we ask that you contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

16. Contact and grievances

Questions, complaints, or grievances about the Service can be sent to hello@slizy.app. In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer can be reached at the same address and will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
